New Free Pattern for a 1940’s Man’s Jumper/Sweater

A man wearing a form fitting sweater/jumper with fair-isle patterned band across the bottom, plain body, and stripes near the neck opening.
The neck has a slit opening with coloured band up each side. It is finished with a ribbed shirt-collar worked in stripes to match the stripes across the front of the jumper.

Today’s free knitting pattern is a vintage stranded knit from 1949.

I have modernised some of the language used, clarified any instructions I found unclear, included colour charts, and the colour charts written out in words for vision impaired knitters.

“Men’s Knitted Jerkin” from 1949.
