This week in our “And So To” series, “And So To Sew” 20a, sewing lingerie (with three full patterns for panties, camisole and petticoat), and “And So To Embroider” 20b, sewing presents. Featuring patterns and instructions for a drawstring toiletries bag, manicure set, sewing kit and a matching hat and bag combo.
Due to unforeseen circumstances (I.E. I forgot), I didn’t let you know about last week’s new “And So To Sew” and “and So To Embroider” bulletins, so this week I’m letting you know about four!
These bulletins on sewing dressing gowns and bath robes, making and designing embroidered toy horses, inserting zippers and sewing for entertaining can all be found on the vintage embroidery books page.
There are now 39 leaflets available, with many more to come! As always, I have added modern photo or video tutorials wherever possible.
I posted these on Tuesday but forgot to tell you about them, sorry!
And So To Sew bulletin 17a is a new group of patterns for sewing mid century summer wear for girls. A cute top and shorts summer romper set, and a blouse and skirt combo.
While And So To Embroider bulletin 17b teaches you all about decorative stitching with an ordinary home machine, no computerised embroidery machine needed! I’ve included a modern tutorial on bobbin work, for those who prefer a video.
I hope to get back on track (and on time!) next week with knitting patterns and other goodies.
This week “And So To Sew” and “And So To Embroider” include full patterns for your projects so you can get sewing (and embroidering!) straight away.
And So to Sew bulletin 16a contains a pattern and instructions to sew a cute late 50’s cap sleeve blouse to fit a 32 or 34 inch bust, with instructions to make four variations of the pattern. I think this blouse would look equally nice with a period perfect circle skirt or a modern pair of jeans or tailored pants.
While And So To Embroider bulletin 16b is all about making embroidered toy birds for play and decoration. Included is a full pattern for a chicken, with instructions on ways to make each of your birds unique.
This week “And So To Sew’ and “And So To Embroider” feature girls’s party dresses and ideas for the sewing classroom.
This week’s “And So To Sew” bulletin 15a is a special one with two full patterns for sewing vintage party dresses for girls. Sized to fit a 30 to 32 inch bust and 24 to 26 inch waist, they’ll increase your sewing skills and your mid century wardrobe.
“And So To Embroider” bulletin 15b concentrates on the sewing classroom with tips and projects that would suit many home sewing studios. Including display boards, decorative wall storage for your favourite patterns and booklets, and how to set up an attractive, private fitting room in a public space.
Next week features one of my favourite “And So To Embroider” bulletins. If you’d like to find out what it is, don’t forget to subscribe to the site (on the left for desktop, underneath the post for tablet and mobile), and you’ll receive an email whenever I post new content.
