New Lace Patterns

Today I’m uploading three new beautiful lace edging patterns from the 19th century, all named Valenciennes Lace!

As usual, I’ve updated the patterns into modern knitting language, charted and test knit them.

Wide knitted lace with background made of eyelets, and a solid diamond motif in each point made of four single diamonds.

Valenciennes Lace 1 from the Ramsgate Book of Knitted Lace Edgings, 1848

Wide knitted lace with a sawtooth edge made of solid diamonds. Above the diamonds is a triangular design made of large eyelets.

Valenciennes Lace 2 from “Knitting and Crochet, an Illustrated Manual”, 1880 and

Knitted lace edging with two rows of zig-zag design made of eyelets.
