A narrow knitted lace edging with small diamond design made of four eyelets.

Abbreviations

k2tog : Knit 2 stitches together.
k3tog : Knit 3 stitches together.
k : Knit.
p : Purl.
sl : Slip 1 stitch. I like to slip 1 purlways with the yarn at the front (i.e. whichever side is facing me).
yo : Yarn over.
No stitch: Placeholder for changing stitch numbers. Always ignore this square in the chart.

Pattern

Cast on 9 stitches
Set up row: k6, yo, k2tog., k1.
Row 1 (RS): Sl, k1, yo, k2tog, k2, yo, k2tog, k1. (9 sts)
Row 2: Yo, k2tog, p1, k3, yo, k2tog, k1.
Row 3: Sl, (k1, yo, k2tog) × 2, yo, k2. (10 sts)
Row 4: Yo, k2tog, p1, k1, p1, k2, yo, k2tog, k1.
Row 5: Sl, k1, yo, k2tog, k2, yo, k3tog, k1. (9 sts)
Row 6: Repeat row 2.
Row 7: Sl, k1, yo, k2tog, k5.
Row 8: Yo, k2tog, k4, yo, k2tog, k1.
Repeat rows 1 to 8 for the desired length.
