KnitWiki:Projects
From KnitWiki
Contents |
This page lists all the ongoing projects for the KnitWiki. A project might be about adding new information and patterns on a specific topic, reformatting pages that have already been added, generally tidying up the wiki and other things of that nature.
Please feel free to suggest new projects on the talk page, or add your own project here!

[edit] Adding Photos |
| Team leader required
There are some excellent pages that have been added to the KnitWiki that require photographs. You may add photos to any article if they enhance it's content. The pages listed in this category specifically require more photographs to illustrate a technique, show what a finished project looks like, etc. Pages that require photographs will be listed in Category:Pages_Requiring_Photographs If you would like to add a page to this list add the following code at the top or bottom of the page. {{Photos needed}}

[edit] Home Work 1891 |
| Team leader for this project is User:Knittingand
This project is an updating of the book "Home Work" that was originally published in Canada in 1891. The project is currently a part of the knitting-and.com website but has been unfinished for quite a few years and will be moved to the wiki and updated. Once User:Knittingand has moved what has already been finished the remainder of the book will be posted in it's original form so anyone who wishes to can update and test the remaining patterns. Each pattern will be allocated to a specific volunteer, or group of volunteers so we don't double up. |
[edit] Exercises in Knitting by Cornelia Mee |
| Team leader for this project is User:thistlechick
This 1846 knitting book did not include any illustrations. Over time the group of volunteers at LibriVox will be adding illustrations for each pattern along with a modern rewriting. If you would like to be part of this project you may see the group discussion at LibriVox here. Text at Project Gutenberg |
[edit] Transcribing Vintage Patterns |
| Team leader is User:JacquiC2
There are a growing collection of vintage patterns being added in image form that need to be transcribed into text so that search engines can search the content properly. Patterns that require transcription are listed in Category:Patterns Requiring Transcription If you would like to add a page to this list add the following code at the top or bottom of the page. {{Transcribe}}
