No. 12 pins. Cast on 68 stitches, slip a stitch with the wool forward, knit 2 together, bring the wool forward, slip 1, knit 2 together, bring the wool forward, slip 1, knit 2 together, bring the wool forward, slip 1, knit 2 together.
Continue in this manner with white wool till 22 rows are done.
Join the coloured wool and knit 2 rows.
Third row:—Slip the second stitch over the first and knit it, knit the first, slip the fourth stitch over the third and knit it, knit the third; continue in this manner till the row is completed.
Knit a plain row.
Repeat the open row, with a plain row between each, till 6 open rows are done; then repeat the 22 rows of the close knitting, as at first, and cast off.

Honeycomb Cuffs (Make 2)
Size 0 knitting needles.
Lace weight yarn in 2 colors.
Gauge 9 stitches to 1 inch (over stockinette stitch)
Approximate finished size is 3.5 inches wide x 6 inches circumference.
Working flat with main color, cast on 68 stitches.
Row 1: * YO, S1, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Rows 2-22: Repeat row 1.
Change to contrasting color.
Rows 23-24: Knit.
Row 25: * Knit the 2nd stitch and lift it off the needle over the 1st stitch, knit 1st stitch, repeat from * to end.
Row 26: Knit.
Rows 27-36: Repeat rows 25 and 26.
Change to main color.
Rows 37-58: Repeat row 1.
Bind off.
Finishing: Fold rectangle in half and sew seam along short edges. Sew in yarn ends.
