This is a retro style watch-cap style hat with a simple decreased top. It's perfect for knitting with bulky handspun wool.

To fit an adult with head size 22" Actual size is 20"

[edit] Materials

90gm of bulky weight merino - 117m - 7.5-8 WPI

Any suitable breed or commercial wool may be substituted

6.5mm circular needles and dpns

[edit] Gauge

Approximately 15sts to 10cm

[edit] Pattern

Cast on 76 stitches and work 25cm k2, p2 rib

[edit] Decrease for top

1st round: *K2, p2tog; repeat from * to the end of the round (57sts)

2nd round: *K2, p1; repeat from * to the end of the round

3rd round: *K2tog, P1; repeat from * to the end of the round (38sts)

4th round: *K1, p1; repeat from * to the end of the round

5th round: Knit 2 together around (19sts)

6th round: Knit 3 together six times, k1 (7sts)

Break yarn, thread the tail through the remaining stitches, pull tight and fasten off.
