Rose-Leaf Pattern

Pins No. 10; 19 stitches to a pattern. Fifteen shades of blue four-thread German wool, and 6 rows of each colour. Cast on 122 stitches.

First row:—Knit 1, seam 2, knit 1, make 1, knit 1, slip 1, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over, seam 1, knit 2 together, knit 1, seam 1, knit 1, slip 1, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over, seam 1, knit 2 together, knit 1, make 1, and repeat.

Second row:—Seam 3, knit 1, seam 2, knit 1, seam 2, knit 1, seam 4, knit 2, seam 1; repeat.

Third row:—Knit 1, seam 2, knit 1, make 1, knit 1, make 1, slip 1, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over, seam 1, knit 2 together, seam 1, slip 1, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over, seam 1, knit 2 together, make 1, knit 1, make 1, and repeat.

Fourth row:—Seam 4, knit 1, seam 1, knit 1, seam 1, knit 1, seam 5, knit 2, seam 1, and repeat.

Fifth row:—Knit 1, seam 2, knit 1, make 1, knit 3, make 1, slip 1, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch over, seam 1, slip 1, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch over, make 1, knit 3, make 1.

Sixth row:—Seam 6, knit 1, seam 7, knit 2, seam 1, and repeat.

Seventh row:—Knit 1, seam 2, knit 1, make 1, knit 5, make 1, slip 1, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch over, make 1, knit 5, make 1, and repeat.

Eighth row:—Seam 16, knit 2, seam 1, and repeat.

Begin again from the 1st row.

Knitting needles: Old UK size No. 10/ US size 3/metric size 3.25mm

Fifteen shades of blue fingering weight (Australian 4 ply) wool. Work 6 rows of each colour. This pattern would look equally as nice knit in a single colour.

Cast on 122 stitches and knit 4 rows (19 stitches per pattern repeat and 8 edge stitches).

First row: K2, *k1, p2, k1, yo, k1, slip 1, k1, psso, p1, k2tog, k1, p1, k1, slip 1, k1, psso, p1, k2tog, k1, yo; repeat from * to last 6 sts, k1, p2, k3

Second row: K2, *p3, k1, (p2, k1) twice, p4, k2, p1; repeat from * to last 6 sts, (p1, k2) twice

Third row: K2, *k1, p2, k1, yo, k1, yo, slip 1, k1, psso, p1, k2tog, p1, slip 1, k1, psso, p1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo; repeat from * to last 6 sts, k1, p2, k3

Fourth row: K2, *p4, (k1, p1) twice, k1, p5, k2, p1, and repeat from * to last 6 sts, (p1, k2) twice

Fifth row: K2, *k1, p2, k1, yo, k3, yo, slip 1, k2tog, psso, p1, slip 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k3, yo; repeat from * to last 6 sts, k1, p2, k3

Sixth row: K2, *p6, k1, p7, k2, p1, and repeat from * to last 6 sts, (p1, k2) twice

Seventh row: K2, *k1, p2, k1, yo, k5, yo, slip 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k5, yo, and repeat from * to last 6 sts, k1, p2, k3

Eighth row: K2, *p16, k2, p1, and repeat from * to last 6 sts, (p1, k2) twice

Rows 1-8 form pattern. Repeat for desired length. K 4 rows. Cast off.
