Cast on a multiple of 12sts + 6 extra

1st, 3rd, and 7th rows: P6, *K6, P6, repeat from * to end

2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th rows: K6, *P6, K6, repeat from * to end

5th row: P6, *C6F, P6, repeat from * to end

Rows 1 -8 form pattern. Repeat for desired length.
