I-cord Flower
Materials:
I used approximately 35gm unknown green 8ply (DK) wool for the background and scraps of pink and dusty rose for the flower.

Tension:
20sts and 28 rows to 4 inches (10cm) over st st on 4.5mm needles, or needles needed to obtain gauge.

Technique:

Using green, cast on 47sts and knit 94 rows garter st. Cast off.

Cast on 4sts and work 14 inches (36cm) of i-cord for the flower centre. Cast off.

Cast on 4sts and work 36 inches (91.5cm) of i-cord for the flower petals. Cast off.

Wind the i-cord for the centre into a spiral and secure with neat stitches on the back. Sew to the centre of your background square.

Sew the i-cord for the petals into position with a neat running st, using the photo as a guide.
